Teething Essentials

Chechi is nearly 4 months old...and the drool and sticking of hands in mouths has come on fast. Therefore I am prepping myself for teething by investing in these teething tools. For me there are chewbeads and for her its the amber. Let's hope they work!

Off with her Hair!

8" gone...just like that...after 2 years of minor trims...my long tendrils are gone. I'm mailing the 8" ponytail to Pantene Beautiful Lengths this week.
I'm getting use to the shortness...my mom is getting use to how much she abhors the bangs.

Mini Me

So she definitely has Don's eyebrows...but I think she's a lot of me and my mom.
On the left is a picture of me at a few months and on the right is Cecilia at 3 months.
Today was the end of my first week back at work, and I have to say it was great! I really enjoy what I do and the people I work with so although I didn't think I was ready...turns out I was! Even Cecilia is doing well at her "nanas" house. She is there most of the day and my BFF's son, Carlos is there with her most of the day too. I know that those two are going to be great playmates as the months progress and Cecilia gets more agile!
I hope you've had a nice week! We're getting ready for a big garage sale at our house on Saturday, so if you're in our neck of the woods...feel free to drop by and say hello!

It Was the Best of Times it was the Worst of Times

Well it's basically here...the end of my maternity leave. Monday I head back to the museum, and Chechi to the nanny's house. I'm not looking forward to it...but I think in the end it will be good for both of us.

We did have a lot of fun in our last week though...and it all kicked off with Mommy's birthday weekend. Here are some pictures from the festivities which began on Friday night with 11x3 Birthday Cocktail Hour (literally it was an hour). Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market in the morning, the Coral Gables @Home luncheon on Country Club Prado and then the HistoryMiami gala. On Sunday we headed to church and at night the boys came over for birthday dinner for Mommy and birthday twin, Luis. Melissa and I at 11x3 Cocktails. Since the age of 19, I have been wearing a tiara at my birthday celebration. Below is my favorite picture of Chechi and I at this moment. She's such a beautiful girl.

Here we are at the farmer's market in front of Coral Gables City Hall. I am naturally wearing my birthday t-shirt and sparkly shoes! It was a gorgeous and cool day so we bundled up a bit for our morning outing, Maggie and all.

Next we headed to the Gables@ Home luncheon. Coco joined us and Mimi was there so it was a lovely family gathering.

Out of order...but saving the sassiest pictures for last...the HistoryMiami gala at the Surf Club on Miami Beach. The black tie gala was the first for the museum in 70 years...and the best part was that it was on my actual birthday night! Mimi and Babo were both there and that made for a fun night!
