One Month

Yesterday we went for SWS first month check-up.

11 lbs 2 oz  80% weight
23" 96% height

In our first month we saw him change, we saw our first smile... he went to lots of places from the park, the Biltmore School to pick up his sister, to a coupe of malls and out to eat at Latin American Cafeteria. He enjoys being outside, listening to his sister and being with mommy.

C is doing amazing! At 3.5 she finished her second year of school, she continues to love her brother and has adjusted beautifully. She still loves to draw, play with friends, neighbors and her cousins. She enjoys music and running errands with her Coco. She's also started to really bond with her dad.

Week 1 : Full Casa Sles

S has been with us for a week now. So far he likes being outside, going for walks, sleeping and eating. He's a great sleeper and a champ eater. He squeeks and smiles as he dozes off. His dimples make me smile and the smell of his hair is intoxicating.

I look forward to seeing how he continues to change and grow in the coming weeks, and how C continues to take on her very important role of big sister. He is so lucky to have her and she is blessed to have him...and we are forever grateful to have them both.

May 1, 2014... On The Day That You Were Born...

At 10:35am in some OR at South Miami Hospital, our family was completed with the arrival of Sebastian Wolf.

The C-Section was quick and before I knew it "the head is out" and then Dr. Nikitin was raising him over the curtain to show him to me...he then quickly peed on me. NO LIE! My sons initial reaction to meeting me was to pee. Don then went over for the cutting of umbilical chord and Sebastian was brought over to me to hold. Crying and instantly falling in love my 8lb13oz, 22 inch bundle of joy stole my heart.

We've now been home for a number of days (came home on Saturday), and we're settling in. Big sister C is in love and makes sure to give him kisses on the head and tell him she loves him often. She also told him the other day "Sebastian (which she pronounces Seh-bahs-tion), I'm your best friend". A feeling I hope will be mutual for a while.

More pictures will come, but we are well. So far S is a good sleeper, a champ eater...and his weigh-in and height check at his appointment with Dr. Tio Ernie was 8lb12oz and 1/4 inch shorter. I'll do my best to post funny stories and precious moments.

Week 36-37 with SWS

We are in the home stretch! Just 9 days from now we will be welcoming our little SWS to the world. Here is how the belly is progressing. Last week I had an ultrasound which told us that SWS was already weighing in at 7.1 lbs! We'll see what the final verdict is next week. In the meantime we continue to work on the house and both kids rooms. I promise to take pictures when I feel comfortable about the progress and share.

C continues to be very excited to greet her little brother. She sees small things and says that it's "para mi hermano cuando salga del estomago" (it's for my brother when he comes out of the belly). She continues her love for Frozen, enjoying school and time with her friends. Preferring purple to pink (most of the time) our little princess has mastered both languages and is always ready to indulge in chocolate.

Meanwhile D continues to be the best example of good health keeping up his 55lb weight loss with 4 mile runs every other night and a delicious yet nutritious menu of food.

34 Weeks (5 Weeks to GO!)

Today I am officially 35 weeks (4 weeks to go) but this is what I looked like last week at 34. SWS has officially pushed me over into the "walk as little as possible" and "stairs? what stairs?" phase of my pregnancy. I don't remember feeling that with C...but I am with sweet land whale of a boy. C continues to be excited for his arrival, telling us a lot about how she's going to be a great big sister and help dress him and feed him. She hasn't shown any signs of jealously (yet) and even is happy to just watch gifts get opened when they arrive from friends and family around the country (I do ask her for help opening them now and then). It's hard to believe that one month from today we'll already have spend 24 hours with SWS at the hospital...it's been such a fast pregnancy.
Here is C at 3.4 helping open a gift from our friends the Kerrs.

6 Weeks to Go!!

The house project like my pregnancy is moving along! Our two car garage is now mostly a family room, our living room has been revamped, C's room has lost most signs of ever having been a baby's room...and the nursery...well, let's say we're saving the best for last. SWS has been moving around like crazy and is so active. I don't want to say he's more active than C was, but he's bigger so I know that's part of it. C is very excited for his arrival and constantly asks when he's coming out. She also likes to randomly come up to my belly, kiss it and talk to SWS, "Hi! It's C! I love you!" she'll say right up to my belly. May they always hug and love each other.
